Sierra de la Macarena
The Sierra de la Macarena, located in the department of Meta. It is one of the most important mountain ranges in Colombia and the most important in the Colombian Amazon, as its fauna and flora are unique. The maximum height there is 2,200 m.
Sierra de Chiribiquete
The Sierra de Chiribiquete is a great treasure of ancient culture. More than 80 pictorial complexes have been found there, consisting of 20,000 cave paintings.

Celebrations and Festivals of the Amazon Region
Among the most popular celebrations and festivals of the Colombian Amazon region are:
- Mocoa Carnival: This festivity's main objective is to protect the roots of the department of Putumayo. It takes place in December and during the days of the festivities there are dances, the Carnival pageant and different musical bands from other regions of the country perform.
- National and International Ecology Festival and Pageant: In this event, the ecology queen is chosen. It takes place in Caquetá and its objective is to promote the culture and tourism of the place where the event is held.
