DATE OF FOUNDATION OF MUNICIPALITIES OF RISARALDA
The municipality of Marsella is one of the oldest in the department of Risaralda, while Pereira was founded in 1863 and quickly became the urban center of the Coffee Axis. Risaralda as a department is relatively young, having been created in 1966 when it separated from Caldas.
