DATE OF FOUNDATION OF MUNICIPALITIES OF MAGDALENA
Santa Marta is the oldest city in the department of Magdalena and in all of Colombia, founded on July 29, 1525 by Rodrigo de Bastidas, making it the first city founded by the Spanish on the American continent still inhabited.
