The department of Caquetá has a warm and humid climate typical of the transition between the Eastern mountain range and the Amazon plain. Florencia, its capital, records temperatures of 24 to 28 °C with relative humidity above 85% for most of the year. The department receives between 2,500 and 4,000 mm of rainfall annually, making it one of the rainiest regions in Colombia. The forests of Caquetá are home to extraordinary biodiversity, and the warm, humid climate drives this natural richness. Only in the high belt of the mountain foothill, in municipalities like Albania and San José del Fragua, the climate is somewhat cooler.

BEST TIME TO VISIT CAQUETÁ
December to March: less precipitation, more navigable rivers, better visibility in the jungle. For ecotourism in the rainforest, any month is valid but waterproof gear is recommended. Avoid May–July in low-lying areas due to flood risk.
