Climate of Antioquia
Temperature, thermal floors, rainy seasons and best time to visit Antioquia. Complete climate data by municipality.
The department of Antioquia is one of the most climatically diverse in Colombia, thanks to its mountainous topography ranging from sea level in Urabá and Bajo Cauca to the páramos of the northern highlands. Medellín, its capital, enjoys an average temperature of 22 °C throughout the year, earning it the nickname "city of eternal spring." In contrast, the lowlands of Urabá record temperatures of 28 to 32 °C with high humidity, while municipalities of the northern highlands like Santa Rosa de Osos exceed 2,500 meters in altitude and have temperatures below 15 °C. This diversity makes Antioquia a destination suitable for visiting any time of year, depending on the thermal floor you wish to explore.
