Climate of Guainía
Temperature, thermal floors, rainy seasons and best time to visit Guainía. Complete climate data by municipality.
The department of Guainía has a warm and humid climate characteristic of the southern Colombian Amazon. Inírida, its capital, records temperatures of 26 to 30 °C throughout the year, with very high relative humidity. The Guainía landscape —tepuis, ancient rock formations, blackwater rivers like the Inírida and Guainía (upper Negro), and white sand savannas— is shaped by the Amazon rainfall regime. The Orinoco river basin in the north of the department adds another climatic dimension. The scant human intervention keeps the forest almost intact, and the warm-humid climate guarantees this exceptional biodiversity.
