Climate of Córdoba
Temperature, thermal floors, rainy seasons and best time to visit Córdoba. Complete climate data by municipality.
The department of Córdoba has a warm and humid climate typical of the southern Colombian Caribbean, with temperatures exceeding 30 °C in most of the territory. Montería, its capital on the banks of the Sinú River, records temperatures of 28 to 34 °C with high humidity. The wetlands of the lower Sinú —La Grande de Lorica being the most extensive— create lacustrine microclimates that locally moderate temperatures. The Serranía de Abibe to the west and the foothills of the Montes de María to the north have somewhat cooler areas. Córdoba is one of Colombia's main livestock producers, and its tropical floodplain is a fundamental part of that productive landscape.
